THE BACK STORY

I have been working on a luggage scale to address the realities of the airline traveling. Having to travel frequently for the past few years, I had to keep weighing my suitcases to make sure it falls within the prescribed allowable weight. It has become more important now, with airlines slashing the weight limit and imposing harsh penalties for overweight luggage on top of having to pay for checking it in. Looking around, all I could see in the market, was just modified fish scales. Not only there were crude in design, but some are potentially hazardous when used.

In light of this I decided to design one of my own. So I came up with the first luggage scale, specifically designed for lifting suitcases. So no more jumping up and down from bathroom scales. No more lifting with fish scales and injuring your back. No more tying and untying straps. No more thin hooks which makes the luggage wobble.

So, here is the EZ TRAVEL SCALE, the first scale truly designed for the traveler. Its use is as simple as lifting your suitcase.

Instructions

1. Install the 9 V battery (included).
2. Turn the scale on by pressing the RED ON/OFF switch.
3. Wait few seconds for the scale to reset and will show 00.0.
4. Default unit is pounds (lb). Press BLUE UNIT switch to change to kilograms.
5. Lift up the luggage as shown in figure 2 and read the displayed weight.
6. To weigh another suitcase, before auto shut off, press the BLUE UNIT switch. The unit will reset and is ready to take a new reading.
7. The display will lock if the readout is steady for 3 secs. If not, read the maximum weight displayed.
8. The display lock is for 10 seconds. After another 10 seconds, the unit will shut off automatically.

* Unit will be replaced at no charge if it fails for regular wear and tear. Excludes user damaged units. No user serviceable parts inside. Warranty void if unit is opened. (S&H excluded).
